On Girls' Day, young women get the chance to spend a day gaining insight into working life – with a focus on sectors where women make up less than 40 % of the workforce, such as IT, the trades and the natural sciences.
Why is Girls' Day needed?
More than half of young women in Germany choose from just ten occupations in the dual training system – not one of them scientific or technical. Girls' Day gives young women the chance to dip into fields they would otherwise be unlikely to consider.
“Our society is diverse – that should be reflected in working life.”

We welcomed two 14-year-old students – Sarah and Nila – and showed them our working day. We hope we managed to show one thing: IT is not boring. 😉
