A chatbot for your WordPress site
NOVA is an AI chatbot for WordPress sites: it answers visitors' questions using the content already on your site. We are currently working on a WordPress plugin for embedding without programming knowledge – but NOVA already works in WordPress today via the standard embed snippet.
How a WordPress chatbot with NOVA works
WordPress sits behind a large share of all company websites – from the trades business through the law firm to the municipal administration. What those sites have in common: the answers to the most frequent visitor questions have long been somewhere on them. Only nobody finds them, because they are spread across sub-pages, menu items and PDF attachments.
That is exactly where NOVA comes in. The chatbot works with the content of your WordPress site – the same texts your visitors could read themselves. There is no separate knowledge base for anyone to fill and maintain, and no training on your data. Change a page in WordPress and the new information applies.
For the visitor that means: they ask in ordinary language – “Until when can I cancel?”, “Are you open on Saturday?” – and get the answer in the chat window instead of clicking through the menu. If the answer is not on your site, NOVA says so rather than making something up.
The planned WordPress plugin takes the embedding off your hands: install it, connect it to your NOVA account, set appearance and position in the WordPress backend. Without touching theme files and without a theme update overwriting the embed.

WordPress chatbots and the GDPR
Most chatbot plugins in the WordPress directory pass your visitors' input on to a US provider. That leaves you with a third-country transfer, a processing agreement and, in case of doubt, a cookie banner you did not have before.
NOVA processes in our German data centre. There is no transfer to the USA, and your content is not used to train anyone else's models. That is why NOVA is used above all by law firms, medical practices, educational institutions and public administration – where the question of server location is not optional.

Current status: The WordPress plugin is in development – to that extent this page describes a planned feature and not current scope. We deliberately do not name a date. NOVA itself is available and can be placed in any WordPress site today via the embed snippet.

Can I use NOVA in WordPress today?
Yes. Embedding via the standard snippet works in WordPress as in any other site – in the theme or through a snippet plugin. The planned plugin is only meant to make this step more convenient and update-proof.
Where does the chatbot take its answers from?
From the content of your WordPress site. There is no separate knowledge base to fill: what is on the site, NOVA can answer; what is not, it cannot.
Do I have to prepare my content specially?
No. NOVA works with the existing pages and posts. Experience shows it does tend to reveal where details are missing or outdated.
Is this GDPR-compliant?
Processing runs in our German data centre, with no third-country transfer and no training on your content. That distinguishes NOVA from the widespread chatbot plugins that pass input on to US providers.
Does it work with WooCommerce too?
NOVA works with the content of the site, so with shop pages that WooCommerce outputs as well. There is no dedicated WooCommerce connection with order data.
When is the plugin coming?
We will only name a date once it is dependable. Write to us and we will get in touch as soon as it is available.
Does the plugin cost extra?
No. It is a way of embedding, not a separate product – the NOVA rates apply.
