Today brought the first snow of the year. Hard to believe that only a few days ago we were strolling through sunny, warm Lisbon without a jacket or scarf.
The acceptance
In mid-August we applied to the Web Summit's ALPHA programme – without expecting much of a chance. But a few days later the news arrived: we're in! The ALPHA programme includes three days' access for three people, an exhibition stand and the chance to apply for startup activities.
Three days in Lisbon
On the Tuesday we presented Splitbot at our stand all day. Many interesting conversations with potential customers and partners – and clear feedback: with our own code, developed in-house, we stand out from other startups.
In the evening there was the German Startup Night at Factory Lisbon, hosted among others by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action.
The big moment
On the Thursday we were on tenterhooks with our developer Bartosz at the Splitbot startup showcase – a two-minute bare-bones pitch on a big stage. Bartosz presented with assurance and earned applause and some exciting contact details.
We thank everyone who has accompanied us on our way – and look forward to the coming year.
