What is the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act is the world's first comprehensive AI regulation and has been in force since August 2024. It governs which AI systems may be deployed and under what conditions.
Particularly relevant for the public sector
AI systems used in awarding social benefits or in education count as high-risk areas and are subject to strict requirements.
- A risk management system must be in place
- Technical documentation is mandatory
- Human oversight must be assured
KOSMO and the EU AI Act
As an internal knowledge management system, KOSMO does not usually fall into the high-risk category. Even so, KOSMO is fully transparent – with source references for every answer and role-based access rights.
